Scottsdale: Ghetto Central
January 5, 2009 by Frank
It’s been a while since I’ve looked at the headlines on the Scottsdale page over at AZCentral.com. Quite honestly it’s because I really don’t care anymore. But, it’s good for a laugh once in a while to see what kind of violent crime was perpetrated over the weekend in the “affluent, upscale” city.
Sure enough, here’s what I was greeted with:
- Shooting outside Myst nightclub
- Armed bank robbery
- Carjacking
Yep, nice “upscale, affluent” town you have there, Scottsdale.
Here’s the thing: Scottsdale is ghetto. You can see it by the people, by the way they live, by the way they act. The problem, however, is many people were fooled into the “affluent” myth because throughout much of this decade, the ghetto scum was disguised with leased BMWs and Mercedes they “bought” with their free housing ATM HELOC money.
Now that the housing Ponzi scheme has collapsed, the gig is up. The repo man has come to take away the luxury cars and the Scottsdale “elite” are back to living on their $39,150 median income (nothing wrong with that, by the way, as long as you’re not claiming to be “rich”). And so the truth comes out.
Without the ability to fleece an uneducated populace via the real estate industry, Scottsdale’s “elite” turn to robbing banks, stealing cars, and firing off gunshots in anger and frustration. (Maybe the guy was angry that E4 nightclub has gone out of business and now he’s stuck at Myst?)
Welcome to the New Scottsdale. It’s only going to get worse as Scottsdale’s joke of an economy continues to fall apart.

Frank:
Cool post and right on point.
Hey Frank, by the way.
“The repo man has come to take away the luxury cars and the Scottsdale “elite” are back to living on their $39,150 median income (nothing wrong with that, by the way, as long as you’re not claiming to be “rich”.
I am starting to like you a little.
Greg
Hahaha E4 was garbage anyway. They were lucky to close that place down before a fire broke out and the 1,000 people they tried to cram in there all died trying to rush east exit. I think they designed that thing specifically to watch drunk girls fall down stairs.
I think if there’s one thing we can look forward to in Scottsdale, it will be ground zero for the “Photo Radar Riots.” I’m calling my shot now.
Scottsdale has a decade worth of sh*t to wade through with the mess that was created by Mary Manross and Janet Napolitano, who is soon to be our Secretary of Homeland Security. Are we living in the bizarro world?
Here’s something to chew on. Half of the auto fatalities in Scottsdale were from impaired drivers.

It’s great to know that those speed cameras get these guys off the streets.
Would anyone else agree that the valleys media is sensored to not include any negative reporting against Scotttsdale. Years ago in AZcentral a bank robery article quickly dissappeared never to be seen again.
